Thalia Dragona

Thaleia Dragona is Emeritus Professor of Social Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She has served multiple times as Chair of the Department of Early Childhood Education (TEAPI) and as Dean of the School of Education Sciences.
Her research and publications focus on social-psychological identity, intergroup relations, intercultural education, ethnocentrism in the educational system, prevention and promotion of early psychosocial health, the transition to parenthood, and the construction of fatherhood. She has directed and participated in numerous international and Greek research projects, most notably on the education of the Muslim minority in Thrace.
She is the scientific coordinator, alongside N. Bozatzis, of the Social Psychology series published by Metaixmio. She played an active role in the creation of the Hellenic Open University and was a member of the Board of the Centre for Educational Research. From 2007 to 2009, she served as a PASOK Member of Parliament, and from 2009 to 2010, she was Special Secretary for Educational Planning and Intercultural Education at the Ministry of Education.
