Lois Labrianidis

Lois Labrianidis is Emeritus Professor at the University of Macedonia and former Secretary General for Private Investments at the Ministry of Economy & Development. He is an economic geographer, holding a BA from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1977), an MA from the University of Sussex (1978), and a PhD from the London School of Economics (1983).
He has authored over 80 scientific articles and 17 books, individually or collaboratively, including: Searching for the Other Path (2024), The Geographic, Scientific and Professional Mobility of Greek PhDs (2021), Brain Drain in Greece (2021), Do We Want Development? (2021), Spatial Development and Human Capital (2016), Investing in Flight (2011), Thessaloniki at the Crossroads (2008), The Moving Frontier (2008), The Future of Europe’s Rural Peripheries (2004), Albanian Migrants in Thessaloniki (2001), Economic Geography (2001), and Regional Universities in Greece (1993).
