Evangelia Karagiannopoulou

Evangelia Karagiannopoulou is Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences, at the University of Ioannina (UoI) and Honorary Professor at University College London (UCL), UK. She graduated from the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology (Psychology track) at UoI and completed her MA and PhD at the Institute of Education (IoE), UCL, receiving scholarships in Greece and abroad. She also served as representative of doctoral students at IoE. Her research focuses on the interplay of learning and emotion, individual and interpersonal factors, and student well-being and mental health.

She has served as Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Director of the Research Institute for Humanities and Social Studies (UoI), member of the Board of the Hellenic Psychological Society (HPS), and coordinator of the Cognitive Psychology Section. She was also a member of the Board of the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY, 2016–2020).

She has taught at universities and research centers abroad and participates in international research teams and networks, professional societies, and editorial boards of international journals. She serves as a reviewer for both international and national research programs and has published a monograph and numerous articles in Greek and international scientific journals, predominantly in her field of expertise.
