Elli Lemonidou

Elli Lemonidou is Professor of Modern History and Chair of the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Patras. Her primary research interests focus on the history of World War I and World War II, the management of contentious and traumatic events of the recent past, the relationship between history and memory, and the public uses of historical knowledge.

Her publications include, among others, the monographs: History on the Big Screen: History, Cinema, and National Identities (Taxideftis, Athens, 2017); History and Memory of World War I in Europe (Papazisis, Athens, 2019); and World War I (1914–1918): History of a Global Catastrophe (Estia, Athens, 2020).
