Dimitris Loukas

Dimitris Loukas is Honorary Research Director at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD, “Demokritos”). He is an experimental physicist specializing in particle physics, with expertise in electronics and instrumentation. His laboratory at Demokritos contributed to the construction of components for the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.

He has worked at France’s CNRS and collaborated extensively with CERN throughout his scientific career, holding periodic positions there. He has served as Secretary and President of the Association of Greek Researchers within the country’s tertiary research system, where he actively promoted the concept of a unified education–research space. He also served as an elected member of the Board of Directors at Demokritos. He is fluent in English and French.
