A periodical publication on international trends<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biannual periodical publication on international trends, With a Wide-Angle Lens<\/em>, is published within the framework of the Europe, World & Left thematic area of the Nicos Poulantzas Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the publication is to present to the Greek public aspects of international developments and trends, in dialogue with current affairs, but without being dependent on them. Drawing on contributions and analyses from a broad group of regular and occasional collaborators from Greece and abroad, and reflecting different approaches and points of departure\u2014both academic and political\u2014we seek to create precisely what the title of the publication suggests: a wide-angle lens through which to approach the rapidly changing world in which we live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis issue is dedicated to Gaza, a place that has become a global symbol of humanitarian catastrophe, geopolitical instability, and the profound violation of the fundamental rights of an entire people. The Palestinian question is not just another regional conflict; it is the longest-standing and most persistent open wound of the international system, a space where the right to self-determination has never been implemented and where the international order continually fails to defend its own principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of this failure lie Israel\u2019s military intervention and genocidal policies, which flagrantly violate international law in the Gaza Strip. This systematic process of extermination targets not only bodies, but also the very possibility of collective life. In Gaza, \u201cnecropolitics\u201d\u2014as the exercise of power that decides who will live and who will be left to die within zones of absolute precarity\u2014is manifested in an almost laboratory-like manner: as a regime in which an entire population is subjected to the permanent management of death.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
