Panagiotis Kormas is an orthopedic surgeon, MD, MSc, PhD in Philosophy, and a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His postdoctoral research focuses on neuroethics, decision-making mechanisms, artificial intelligence, and free will. He combines research work and university teaching with extensive administrative and institutional experience in public and private organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is a member of the Laboratory of Applied Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the Laboratory of Biopolitics at Panteion University, as well as a member of the Medical Board of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Human Electrophysiology at the Ionian University. He is also a member of the International Advisory Board of the Greek Initiative Against Alzheimer\u2019s, focusing on inequalities and barriers regarding access to diagnosis and care\u2014an issue that is also central to his broader research on healthcare and social accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He teaches Theoretical Ethics, Bioethics\u2013Medical Ethics, and Philosophy and Neuroscience in postgraduate programs at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as Bioethics and Health Policies at the Open University of Cyprus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also teaches Health Systems Organization within the postgraduate programs “Health Law and Administration” and “Management of Health and Medico-Social Care Units” at Ren\u00e9 Descartes College, in collaboration with the French university Conservatoire National des Arts et M\u00e9tiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He contributes to the “Human Resource Management and Skills Development” course, within the “Supply Chain Management and Logistics” postgraduate program at the Department of Economics of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), by delivering lectures on “Decision-Making, Ethics, and Sustainability in Global Supply Chains” and “Business Ethics”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This teaching integrates his research on consciousness and decision-making mechanisms into the fields of economics, sustainability, and corporate responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He participated in the research project “Philosophy Traces” (NKUA, Department of Philosophy) and in the “Intelligent Research Infrastructure for Shipping, Transport, and the Supply Chain” (DUTH, 2021\u20132023), working on the collection and processing of data regarding health, tourism, and culture, with a focus on accessibility and the development of human-centric decision-making models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the author of a book and various scientific publications in Greek and international edited volumes and journals. The covering topics include the philosophy of mind, neuroethics, bioethics, artificial intelligence, and political philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He possesses extensive institutional experience in the healthcare sector. He served as a member of the Plenary of the Central Health Council from 2009 to 2016 and as Vice President of National Center for Emergency Care of Greece (EKAB) from 2010 to 2011, with responsibilities covering emergency medicine, training, and the development of primary healthcare.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
